Updates - October 2009
Hey guys, it's already October. With many of us in school or working, it seems like two thousand and nine has gone by incredibly fast. Here's a few updates.
The "Blog" seems to have slowed down. I'm not sure what we're going to do with it as less and less people are still contributing. We may just move the posts over to the "Articles" section of the website. As for the "Library," there are many more exercises to come. Keep in mind that anybody is welcome to add their contributions to either section of the site!
If you didn't see the last update, Marshall Feis has completed the grand 2,178+ mile trek of the Appalachian Trail. Congratulations Marshall!
Just in Raleigh, two official clubs have sprung up. Under the direction of Tony Nguyen and Felix Burgos, E.A.S.Y. has been brought to Broughton. E.A.S.Y. saw close to ten high school students on its first meeting. A couple blocks away at NCSU, the Parkour & Freerunning Club, led by Ben Webster, is now official. Other officers include Jordan Miller, Ryan Thomson, and Alan Tran. They held their first general body meeting / beginner's night with the help of Andrew So on October 5th with great success - counting over thirty attendees. There may be other clubs floating around North Carolina - we've heard things from Duke University, Northwest High School, and possibly UNC-Charlotte and UNC-Greensboro.
Videos have been coming out left and right from within the community. First up is Aaron Carlisle's "Fayetteville Parkour". Coming from Tacoma, Washington, Aaron has only been in North Carolina for a few months but has taken several opportunities to not only visit some of the guys in the Triangle, but to lead the warm-up at NCPKJ11. Speaking of the last state jam, the "J11 Nonsense and Madness" video shares some footage of the day's nonsense and madness. Next up is Nick Faircloth's "Hopscotch Goes to School" featuring John Moore, Ryan Smith, and Skyler Wollschleger. Nick has started school at UNC-W and has begun training with the Carolina Beach guys on a regular basis. Also up is Ryan Carr's "Sampler 2009". Although he's only been practicing for a few months, he took the opportunity to record some of his skills. Last is the "Promo Video" for the Parkour & Freerunning Club at NCSU with brand new footage and some clips dating back as far as early 2008 featuring Aaron Carlisle, Sky Colbert, Duncan Germain, Jeremy Lewis, Jordan Miller, Tyler Spry, Alan Tran, Ben Webster, and Kevin Wright.
Daniel Hines is starting a regular strength conditioning session in Raleigh. After much research, he will be pulling exercises from a variety of sources including Thomas Kurz, Ido Portal, and Chris Sommer for his conditioning routine. Come join Dan at the "Raleigh Strength Sessions." Skyler Wollschleger has started a regular weekly Friday jam in Carolina Beach. Find more information on the forums, come out to move, and help him with his senior project!
The next state jam will be held sometime soon in the next four to six weeks. Come help us plan NCPKJ12 on the forums! We have decided on downtown Fayetteville with Aaron Carlisle as the event host.
Where the Wild Things Are is an anticipated movie for many guys around the state. A few people plan on watching the movie on Friday, October 16th in Burlington. If you're interested, contact Alan for more details.
That's about it for this month! We hope you make a good day!

I am currently living in Clayton Nc, and I was woundering if there would be someone that could help me start up or a person to train with.
