Quadrupedal Movement

Category - Quadrupedal Movement

QM: Basic

Quadrupedal movement is an excellent way to condition the body for movement. There are several variations but they all develop the core, back, arms, and legs. Each variation focuses on different muscle groups, control of all four limbs, and endurance. With the proper form, these exercises prove to be challenging for people on all levels of fitness. Distance and speed are two factors that should be considered when performing the exercise.

Distance:
It's common sense that the further you go, the harder the workout. Set up a length to perform or see how far you can go without stopping.

Speed:
The speed in which the exercise is performed affects control, coordination, and endurance negatively and positively. Both should be practice once you develop the proper form and technique. If you're just beginning, work slow to develop the correct form.
