A couple of months ago, someone on the forum (I believe it was Wesley) asked my about the Captains of Crush hand grippers. I believed he wanted to know if they were worth the money or are they just a giant scam like half of the exercise routines out there. Well, after fiddling around with mine for a couple of weeks, I have finally come to a conclusion. (Click "Read More" to continue reading...)
It depends. Yes, the grippers are good for what they are made for. I purchased the Trainer level (3rd level) and it seems to be right in my strength range. I can fully close it when I am fresh, but after I have done a couple reps I can no longer fully close it. These are much better than the crappy ones that you buy at Dicks Sporting Goods. However, the question is are you actually going to use it? It all comes down to motivation. Will you stay motivated enough to train with it four or five days a week, and stick to that schedule? While most of us say yes the answer we should be saying is no. How many people here have actually stuck to a workout schedule for longer than a couple months? I personally cannot think of anyone who has, without having to give up for some reason or another. I find myself doing this frequently, like the “break” that I am currently taking on my planche progressions, despite having recently moved up to advanced tuck planche. So it really all boils down to are you really motivated to have superior grip strength? Or will you just fizzle out like everyone else, yourself most likely included, has so far, giving up when your gains don’t seems to be coming quick enough? It’s your choice.
