The opportunity to travel presented itself so I have decided to take it. As I'm typing this at 1:21AM on a Thursday morning, I am anxiously waiting to leave for the airport. Why am I traveling? To be a part of the biggest North American parkour jam held in... (Click "Read More" to continue")
Denver, Colorado. One of the largest and most well-established scene in North America if not the world. Through the hard labors of Mat Marshall, Ryan Ford, Will Schultz, and many more, COPK is a powerhouse for American traceurs with a gym to show for it. For the past few years, the national Colorado Parkour jam has grown from a small meet-up to a gathering of over a hundred and forty individuals in 2008. People from all over the nation fly in for four days specifically for this gathering. This year is expected to be even bigger. Through the social interwebs, over a hundred people alone have been confirmed on making it. You have the APK Tribe, the COPK Team, Flux Freerunning, Team Tempest, PK/FR International, and more coming in just for this huge event. With a four day itenary of awesome, nothing less is expected.
Friday: Red Rocks Amphitheatre, Open Workshops, Lionsgate Park
Saturday: Cat Fountain, Skyline Park, Free Seminars, Open Workshops, BBQ
Sunday: CU Boulder Campus, Flatirons Hike, Eben G Fine Park,
Monday: Park Place, Eben G Park
Looking forward to $0.99 burritos, staying at the completed gym, and awesomeness.
Upcoming blog: The COPK/APEX National Jam 2009...NOT
It's 12:07AM on Friday morning and I'm sad to say that I couldn't make it. I flew in to Dallas to connect to Denver but flights were overbooked ridiculously. I spent about fourteen hours sitting at one terminal for one flight moving to the next terminal to do the same. By 8PM, the standby list grew to fifty-three passengers anxiously waiting to get on miraculously. Looking at Friday's schedule, that list was not going down much further. Enough was enough, I took the first open flight home to finish this post. I hope the COPK/APEX guys host well and that the jam goes great. Here's to hoping Steven (Sløth) has a fun-filled four day jam at the COPK/APEX National Jam.
